The Gasan Group of Companies, through Gasan Enterprises Ltd, celebrates 80 years of car importation this year, and celebrations are to rope in staff and customers.

Gasan Enterprises are local agents for Ford, Jaguar, Mazda, Volvo and Yamaha.

Kick-starting a series of events, a 'Special 80th Bargain Event' is being held later this month: 80 vehicles will be selected and will be sold at fantastically reduced prices and with better finance terms than current Gasan offers.

This event will be followed by a series of monthly events, promotions, and staff incentives, culminating in an event at an exclusive location on October 1, the actual anniversary date when the late Joe Gasan officially signed the first car importation agreement with Henry Ford. This spectacular event will be marked with the draw of an outstanding grand prize.

There is also an exciting line-up of five new models and new brand launches that will be periodically added to Gasan's portfolio this year.

"2008, for us, is a year like no other," said David Gasan, managing director of Gasan Enterprises Ltd. "This year, our 'Driving Inspiration' draws on our long-established experience and tradition, and looks to the future with vision and optimism, this being fuelled and backed up by a heritage in which we are very proud."

"We will continue to grow from strength to strength. We will continue to strive for excellence in all the areas we operate in, to be leaders in our field, and to achieve our fundamental business objectives through enterprise, reliability and sensitivity to social and environmental issues," he continued.

Conscious of a responsibility towards the environment and the community, the organisation has also initiated a 'Gasan Goes Green' campaign to undertake corporate social responsibility in several areas. As pioneers in the industry, Gasan is the first car importer to contribute towards the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the Environment's 34 Clean Air Campaign, and planted 100 trees along St Paul's Bay main arterial road.

"We will continue to endorse these and more events throughout the year because we strongly believe in playing an important role in the community, and involving ourselves in Malta's sustainable development," said Mr Gasan. "Apart from these initiatives, we are tangibly making a difference to the environment, by bringing to the market brands that integrate green initiatives in their manufacture, reducing consumption and waste."
