For the second consecutive year, the Curriculum and eLearning Department within the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education and the Directorate for Educational Services in the Department of Education is organising the "EMBED Best use of ICT" event.

The activity, an occasion to celebrate good practice of ICT usage in education, consists of a number of hands-on workshops and an exhibition which displays the different work and projects which are carried out in schools using ICT as a tool. It also includes projects and a stand from the eTwinning National Support Service within the Curriculum and eLearning Department.

Hands-on workshops include graphics, multimedia, animation, music, physical education using the Wii game console, Lego robots, physics and interactive whiteboards among others. Students will participate in two to three different workshops and visit the exhibition.

As part of this activity, eTwinning Malta is organising a number of teacher training workshops in the evening.

There will also be an awards ceremony to reward teachers who used technology and were innovative in their teaching. The best eTwinning projects will also be named.

The event will be open to the public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Families are welcome to explore how ICT can be used in the children's learning process and development of their children.

This activity is being organised with the help of the eTwinning Malta, Microsoft, Go, Vodafone Malta, Forestals, Smart Technologies, Intercomp, Jos. Vincenti, Audio Visual Centre, IMS, DAB electronica, and Exigy.
