Dr Janet Mifsud, Commissioner NCPE, last month was invited to attend the first Network Event the European Platform of Women Scientists (EPWS), which gathered representatives of more than 80 networks of women scientists or promoting women scientists from 28 countries.

This network, which is funded by the 6th Framework Programme, EPWS, is encouraging networks of women scientists and networks promoting women scientists from all disciplines and all over Europe to join the association. It seeks to support the work of a whole range of existing national, European and international networks of women scientists by "networking the networks".

At the same time the platform aims to make women scientists better understand the role they can play in the research policy debate and how to benefit fully from these opportunities by bundling their powers and forces.
