The European Law Students' Association (ELSA), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is the world's largest independent law students association with a membership in excess of 30,000 students and young lawyers. It is represented in over 35 countries across Europe including Malta, and has also gained consultative status with several United Nations bodies.

Among its various activities, ELSA Malta organises seminars to contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers. These seminars address topical issues that not only interest students but also graduates and the public.

ELSA provides opportunities for law students and young lawyers to learn about other cultures and legal systems in a spirit of critical dialogue and scientific co-operation, assists them to be internationally minded and professionally skilled and encourages them to act for the good of society.
