The Bishops of Malta and Gozo have listed principles which should guide the faithful when they vote in the European Parliament elections.
In a statement this morning, they said that real progress for society and its members could only be achieved when certain principles were respected.
Among them, they said, was the right to life from conception until natural death;
The strengthening of the natural family based on marriage between man and woman;
The right for work and a decent pay;
The principle of solidarity and subsidiarity in society;
Humane treatment for migrants and assistance to help them integrate; and
Respect for the environment.
The bishops urged the faithful to vote and to promote these values in the building of the European project.
