European Parliament president Jerzy Buzek will be addressing the Maltese Parliament on November 29.

In a letter to Speaker Michael Frendo, who invited him to address the House, Mr Buzek said he would take the opportunity to address MPs directly about new rights and obligations EU member states' Parliaments had under the Lisbon Treaty.

Mr Buzek said: "I believe that Malta, because of its important geopolitical position, has a crucial role to play in contributing actively to the development of future EU policies and international relations."
