'English in Action' is the title of a series of English conversation courses for adults being organised by the English Speaking Union Malta at its offices in Sliema.

Each course, which is open to local residents, consists of eight weekly 90-minute sessions for groups of six persons. The sessions are led by fluent/native English speakers who have different interests, educational backgrounds and levels of qualifications, and are motivated to help participants improve their fluency in English.

Throughout the course, participants will be able to practise English conversation and listening skills in an informal, social context geared to the group's interests. Conversation classes are lively, practical, varied and, above all, enjoyable.

Among the discussion topics, which are flexible according to participants' interests, are current affairs, the family, hobbies and pastimes, shopping, sport, theatre and work.

Each course will include question and answer sessions, role plays, short talks from participants, vocabulary-building exercises and word games.
