English-Speaking Union (ESU) Malta branch steering committee chairman Martin Scicluna (fourth from left) recently presented University rector Juanito Camilleri with a copy of Stanley Wells's work Shakespeare For All Times as a gift from ESU director general Valerie Mitchell.

Wells is a renowned authority on Shakespeare and currently putting the finishing touches to a definitive study on the Bard's true likeness. He has accepted the steering committee's invitation to give a series of lectures in Malta later this year. Also pictured are (from left) University library services director Anthony Mangion, Malta's former High Commissioner to the UK Michael Refalo, who had set the ball rolling to set up the ESU Malta branch, and Department of English head Ivan Callus, who is also a member of the steering committee.
