World famous Italian singer-songwriter Eros Ramazzotti will be performing live in Malta on September 17 as part of his new global tour, Perfetto.

The singer, who has a huge local following, will perform in the open air close to the MFCC, in Ta’ Qali. He first visited the island in 2004.

During a career spanning over 30 years, the singer earned a global reputation and sold about 55 million records worldwide. As a Latin-pop singer, he became especially popular in Germany, Mexico and Argentina, apart from his native Italy, during the 1990s.

He was born in the Rome suburb of Cinecittà during the mid-1960s and moved to Milan to make a career of music as a teenager. Beginning with his big hit In Ogni Senso in 1991 he recorded three albums for Arista in the first half of the 1990s.

His new Perfetto tour, which kicked off in Verona last September and has taken the singer across Europe, South America and the US, follows the release of his new album, by the same name, last May.

The album is his 13th and features 14 tracks, produced by the singer himself and his long-time collaborator Claudio Guidetti. Perfetto was preceded by the release of the single Alla fine del mondo.

His previous album, NOI, released in March 2013, sold over 700,000 copies and began a global tour that took in 70 concerts worldwide.
