Elections to the European Parliament are expected to be held across the EU between May 22 and 25 next year - meaning that Malta will go to the polls again in 14 months’ time.

The EU Working Party on General Affairs decided to move the EP elections from June to May in an effort to increase turnout, whioch is low in most countries of the EU.

In Malta, the elections for half of Malta's local councils are expected to be moved back to be held jointly with the EP elections.
