A scheme entitling families to a number of free energy-saving bulbs to cut down on their electricity bills was extended by a month until the end of November.

The Resources Ministry said the extension would make up for the period when the scheme was suspended because of court action that has since been settled.

It urged those who had not yet redeemed their vouchers to do so in the coming days. The ministry said that over the past days vouchers were sent to those who had not received their allocation.

Anyone having difficulties can call on Freephone 8007 2212 or e-mail energyswitch@gov.mt.

The government distributed over 130,000 vouchers for free energy-saving bulbs. There are no statistics on how many bulbs have been collected so far.
