The Malta Standards Authority has advised consumers that LGT energy saver 3-phase units do not comply with European standards.

Moreover, the MSA said, they have been found to pose a serious risk to consumers as they can cause electrocution or start fires.

The authority advised consumers not to use these products and to return them to where they bought them.

The product is being withdrawn from the market with immediate effect. “Action will be taken if these products are found on the market during inspections carried out by the MSA officials,” the authority warned.

The Malta Standards Authority can be reached by e-mail at info@msa.org.mt or by telephone on 23952000.
