Enemalta today suspended another employee pending further police investigations into alleged cases of electricity theft through irregular meters.

Another nine employees were suspended last month.

In a statement, the corporation said that both itself and the police were continuing with their inquiries into the cases.

It thanked customers and other individuals who were collaborating for further details to be exposed. It also thanked all the employees who were assisting in the ongoing inquiries saying their commitment was essential for the corporation to stop this kind of abuse.

It called on customers who are aware of any irregularity in their consumption readings to voluntarily regularise their position and avoid further consequences. They have until April 7 to do so. Enemalta can be contacted on 8007 2245 or reports.emc@enemalta.com.mt.
