Enemalta said today it had energised pelican lights on Valletta Road, Paola on December 18.

The corporation was referring to a news conference by the Paola council yesterday which called on Transport Malta to shoulder responsibility. The mayor said that TM had told the council it was still waiting for the power supply to connect the pelican lights.

But Enemalta said this morning that, from its records, the application for these traffic lights was submitted on November 29 and Enemalta energised the lights on December 18.

As for the lights in Palm Street, which the mayor said had not yet been installed, Enemalta said it still had not received an application form for the provision of supply for the traffic lights in Palm Street.
