Enemalta has been ordered to pay a former employee €85,328 for injuries suffered during a fuel transfer operation.

Louis Borg Falzon instituted the case following the incident on June 14,1999.

The court heard that at the time of the incident, when he was 41, Mr Falzon suffered a six per cent disability and psychological problems.

The incident happened during the cleaning of a an aviation fuel tank at the airport. As the tank was being emptied into a bowser, the bowser caught fire and Mr Falzon suffered burns to his face and arms. He also hurt himself when he fell.

He was unable to go to work for six months.
