Claims by the Labour leader yesterday that an Enemalta employee had been the subject of an internal transfer as a sign of retribution for being a whistleblower have been denied by the corporation.

The corporation denied that the employee had been transferred and said it did not receive any request for such a transfer from the minister or someone else on his behalf.

It said that as part of an ongoing process aimed at improving efficiency, the corporation was planning to redeploy the Credit Control section within the structure of ARMS Limited.

All employees who worked within this section had been offered alternative roles within Enemalta while retaining the right to apply within ARMS.

All the roles offered were discussed with the General Workers Union and the majority of employees were looking forward to the new roles. All roles offered took in consideration the grades and take home pay of employees, as well as their job description. The employee in question, Enemalta said, refused such a proposal.
