Enemalta has condemned an assault on its employees while checking electricity meters.

It said the incident happened on Sunday afternoon when its employees, who were accompanied by the police, were refused entry to an establishment to check electricity meters.

The corporation pointed out that according to law, its employees have to be given access to electricity meters. The corporation has the right to suspend the power supply when it suspects tampering of a meter.
