Enemalta this morning condemned acts of violence against its employees.

It issued its statement following an incident on Sunday, during which an employee and a police officer accompanying the employee were attacked.

The corporation said that on Sunday, its employees started electricity meter inspections as part of routine checks.

In the afternoon, after a number of premises were checked, the employees went to the establishment were the incident happened.

They asked to inspect the meter but were met with resistance and the owner of the premises refused to open the compartment where the meter was held. At this point, an employee and the police officer were attacked.

The Corporation thanked its employees for their service and condemned any form of violence against them.
