Enemalta has asked the police to investigate a missing employee file that belonged to its former finance chief Pippo Pandolfino. The discovery that the file was missing came about when the Times of Malta sent questions to the corporation yesterday about Mr Pandolfino’s contract of service.

When appearing before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee last week, Mr Pandolfino admitted to having taken confidential documents and a computer when he left Enemalta in 2009, with permission from then CEO Karl Camilleri. Mr Camilleri did likewise, with permission from then chairman William Spiteri Bailey.

The newspaper had asked whether the two had a confidentiality clause in their contracts that would not have allowed them to keep their computers.

Enemalta said Mr Pandolfino’s personal file could not be located with the rest of the corporation’s employee files. It confirmed that Mr Camilleri’s contract of service did contain a confidentiality clause.
