Emirates has announced it will increase its number of flights by 14 per cent this year and its cargo capacity by 17 per cent.

This year, Emirates will receive an additional 18 wide-body passenger planes and Emirates SkyCargo will receive two Boeing 777 freighters, the largest twin-engine aircraft in the world.

Ram Menen, divisional senior vice-president for cargo, said the last two years had not been easy for the air cargo industry but Emirates hoped to see some stability return in the coming months.
