An emergency evacuation drill is taking place at the Malta International Airport  in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Malta, Civil Protection Department and the Malta Police.

Malta International Airport advised the public that the Terminal Emergency Evacuation Exercise is being held at the airport’s grounds, within the check-in hall environs.

The public should not to be alarmed by any unusual movements, it said.

The exercise is aimed at assessing the level of preparedness of all entities involved, as part of Malta International Airport’s commitment to safety and security. The exercise is being held according to strict standards stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

MIA thanked the public and all airport stakeholders for their cooperation during this event.
