In a recent interview, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, in reply to a question about Pilatus Bank, through a confused stutter, replied that there were ongoing inquiries on Pilatus Bank. This answer was of course a very weak effort to kill the question. Everyone and his parrot know that there are no inquiries on Pilatus Bank, and one cannot understand why the person occupying the highest position in Malta should resort to this.
I would have thought that the President cared a little bit about her dignified position. The journalist was really kind by not following up her reply with another question asking who the inquiring magistrates were. This would have certainly added to the President’s embarrassment.
