Information laid on the Table of the House by the Prime Minister yesterday shows that 2003 and 2008 – both election years – registered the highest number of inter-government departmental transfers.

Dr Muscat told Carmelo Abela (PL) that the transfer between 1999 and 2012 were as follows:

1999: 708; 2000: 640; 2001: 823; 2002:614; 2003: 1,008; 2004: 806; 2005: 590; 2006: 431; 2007: 364; 2008: 970; 2009: 404; 2010: 500; 2011:325 and 2012: 229.
