The elderly and the most vulnerable expected Monday’s Budget to address the difficulties they were facing each day, PN spokesmen Clyde Puli and Mario Galea said today.

Addressing a news conference, they said the Budget should include measures and incentives that should lead to an improvement in the elderly's quality of life.

Mr Puli said the government should give the elderly at least €200 a year to make good for the drop in the increase in the cost of living.

Mr Galea said the government should also ensure that public transport fares went down rather than up because of the substantial increase in subsidy.
