Future Focus is starting a course for elderly care workers in the coming months. This course is intended for those who are already working with the elderly or people interested in taking up such a career.

The increase in demand for elderly care workers has created new career opportunities. Working with the elderly requires dedication and commitment. The elderly deserve quality care.

Lessons, to be held once weekly in the evenings, comprise lectures and work experience. Tutors include medical doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, among others.

The course will be conducted in English and students are expected to carry out assignments and observations.

Topics will include the role of the care worker in geriatrics, healthy ageing, nutrition, making mealtimes enjoyable and handling the elderly. The course is intended to raise standards of care workers by giving them the necessary skills and competencies.
