Efly, the new charter airline to be based in Malta, has asked for permission to operate a daily Malta Gatwick and Malta Catania Gatwick route.

Luigi Crispino, one of the owners of the airline, told timesofmalta.com that the request follows British Airways announcement that it was going to stop its operations on these routes.

Efly, he said, applied to fill the resulting gaps and it was willing to try to run at least one flight daily to Gatwick.
