No common good can ever justify divorce. It is a devilish deceit to tell Christ that divorce can ever be justified when He clearly condemned it as evil, as something God does not want and as something that man has no power to do.

I wonder why in the position paper, the words of Christ on divorce are left out: “What God has joined together let no man put asunder!”

Paragraph seven of the paper is misleading. It contradicts Christ’s purpose in setting up His one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

The title itself is misleading: Declaration On Conscience And Divorce. It should be Declaration Of The Teaching Of The Catholic Church On Divorce.

In case of conflict between the infallible teaching of the Catholic Church and conscience, the teaching of the Catholic Church must rule supreme. If the position paper (by seven high profile priests) says differently, those responsible for it will be responsible for all those people who will go to hell because they will prefer their own conscience to the teaching of Christ and his Church.

The people in hell, including priests, all evoke their conscience for being there!
