This month I needed to renew my motorcycle licence, which according to the Budget speech should have cost me €10 as my bike falls in the under-125cc category.

However, when I checked with Transport Malta I was told I had to pay €60 as the measure was only going to be introduced next year.

The new tax on cigarettes and other items are effective from the following day, but not in my case.
