Eating at McDonald's tomorrow will do a lot of good as €2.33 from every meal will be donated to Dar il-Kaptan, an organisation that helps children with special needs and their families.

The event forms part of the World Children's Day activities, which McDonald's has been taking part in for seven years.

To attract more people to support the initiative, McDonald's restaurants around Malta and Gozo will be hosting puppet shows, balloon modelling, stilt walkers and pony rides, among others.

Personalities, including deejays, actors, singers and MPs, will be supporting the event.

"We are heavily reliant on the generosity of business and private individuals. Had it not been for this generous help we receive regularly, we would have ceased to operate a long time ago," Marcel Pisani, Dar il-Kaptan chairman, said.

Funds raised through World Children's Day will help Dar il-Kaptan to finance its day-to-day running expenses, including maintenance, equipment and wages for the specialised staff.

"Local organisations have the responsibility to give something back to the community they operate in. With this initiative, McDonald's is fulfilling its responsibility. This activity will support Dar il-Kaptan in making children's lives better and their future brighter," Labour MP Evarist Bartolo said.
