Maltese travellers have more destinations to choose from thanks to additional routes being opened by Easyjet and Etihad airlines.
Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates' national airline, will increase its Abu Dhabi - Frankfurt flights from 10 to 13 per week from December 12, increasing the service to twice daily as from March 28, 2010.
Etihad and Air Malta have reached an agreement allowing passengers to buy connecting flights to Abu Dhabi via Frankfurt on a single ticket. This offered a choice of over 80 connecting flights on Etihad's outbound network from Dubai.
Low-cost airline Easyjet has announced new routes linking Malta to Milan and Liverpool.
The Milan route starts on March 30, with three weekly flights, the return fare set at €53.98. The Liverpool -Malta service starts on June 13, with two weekly flights at £56.98 for a return flight.
The airline last week signed an agreement that will see it servicing all its aircraft in Malta, starting next year.
Easyjet also announced new services between Stansted and Cagliari, Manchester and Helsinki, Paris and Helsinki, Paris and Catania, Paris and Agadir, Milan and Casablanca, Milan and Agadir and Milan and Porto.
