Two young British party-goers will be spending their Easter at the Corradino Correctional Facility after being arraigned this morning on charges of drug trafficking.

Stelios Alexander Papadopoulos and Joshua Borthwick, both 26, were arrested yesterday by police officers in the lobby of a St Paul's Bay hotel where they were staying.

Both youths were charged with trafficking of ecstasy, which activity was carried out near a place frequented by young people.

The accused pleaded not guilty but were remanded in custody since no request for bail was made at this stage by the defence.

Inspector Gabriel Micallef prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Amadeus Cachia were counsel to Mr Borthwick.

Lawyer Martin Fenech was legal aid counsel to Mr Papadopoulos.
