Dogs Trust Malta is teaming up with SPCA Malta, Malta Veterinary Association and Happy Paws to offer free neutering, micro-chipping, vet checks and vaccinations for dogs across Malta until December 31.

Puppies will be given their first inoculation, while adult dogs will receive a free booster shot. Dogs will also receive preventative treatment for fleas and worms.

All veterinary surgeries across the island are participating in the scheme, but owners must book an appointment by contacting Dogs Trust Malta on 2142 1140.

Dogs Trust Campaigns Manager Sarah De Cesare said: "We hope by offering this Christmas present to all Maltese dogs we will help reduce the problem of stray and unwanted dogs on the island, as well as improving the health of the lucky ones that do have owners."

The charity is also setting up a mini 'road show', visiting various localities across Malta to promote the offer to all dog owners with the help of local councils. Information on these events will soon be available on www.dogstrustmalta.com.

The offer will be on a first come, first served basis and subject to available funds, so dog owners are encouraged to book quickly to take advantage of this special offer.

For more information contact the Dogs Trust Malta team on 2142 1140 or 7771 1100.
