An eGR breakfast briefing, jointly organised with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and CSB Group, was held in Malta on February 28. The event focused on the fourth EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive and its impact on the gaming industry.

The breakfast attracted a big audience, due to the highly-awaited guidelines to be issued by the MGA in connection with the directive, which needs to be transposed into Maltese law by June 26.

The briefing started off with an introduction by Melanie Dayasena-Lowe, managing editor, eGaming Review Global, who welcomed the panel of experts, namely Jonathan Phyall, senior legal and international relations officer, FIAU, Dominic Micallef, chief officer, enforcement, MGA, Corinne Valletta, head of EU and international affairs, MGA, and Sean Scicluna, Malta Police Inspector, ECU. The panel was moderated by CSB Group compliance officer Michael Parlato Trigona, who also spearheaded a question and answer session at the end of the event.
