The UEFA European Under-17 Championship got underway this morning with the opening games from Group A and B.
At the National Stadium, the Netherlands recovered from a goal down to beat Turkey 3-2.
Enes Ünal fired Turkey ahead three minutes into the second half but the Dutch produced a strong reaction to overturn the deficit with goals from Calvin Verdonk, from a penalty, Abdelhak Nouri and Bilal Ould-Chikh.
Turkey pulled one back in the dying stages through Fatih Aktay.
At the Gozo Stadium, Germany and Switzerland shared the spoils in a one-all draw.
Benjamin Henrichs gave Germany the lead 13 minutes into the second half but Switzerland substitute Boris Babic equalised eight minutes from time.
The Swiss still required a penalty save by goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, after Remo Arnold's red card, to salvage a point.
This evening, Malta take on England at the National Stadium (6pm) while, in Gozo, Scotland face Portugal at 3.15pm.
