A Eucharistic celebration com-memorating 100 years since the birth of Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi, and the 23rd anniversary of his death, was held at the chapel at Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, last Sunday. The event was attended by Catholic Action members and friends of the home.

The concelebration was led by Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Dar tal-Providenza, with the assistance of Mgr Alwig Deguara, Fr Trevor Clough and Fr Charles Abela, the Archbishop's Delegate on the Pastoral Commission for People with Disability. Instead of the homily, a number of the residents took part in a biographical representation of the life of Dun Mikiel.

At the end of the celebration Fr Martin presented a commemorative print by Debbie Caruana Dingli to Carmen Agius, current President of the Catholic Action movement.
