Frederick Delia, 32 and his brother Roderick, 29, were today charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of cocaine which was not for their personal use, and money laundering.
Police sources said officers could not easily raid the house because there were iron bars across all apertures and a pit bull was kept near the front door.
They had therefore observed the house. After they arrested Frederick Delia's wife as she came out, somebody alerted the brothers, who were away, and they entered the house from a back door. After a while they opened the door for the police and taunted them.
No drugs were found police suspect the siblings burnt what they had in the house when they realised the police were there.
The two were denied bail.
