Eleven people have been arrested after drugs were found at a party in Ta’ Qali last night.

The police said that seven men and four women aged between 17 and 45 and residing in Cospicua, Ghaxaq, Paola, Zebbug, Qrendi, Gudja, St Paul’s Bay, Luqa and Floriana, were found in possession of ecstasy, cannabis resin and cocaine.

They are expected to be charged with drug possession in the coming days. One of them, a 45-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay will also be accused of trafficking ecstasy.

The police said that a woman on duty at the party was violently attacked by two men as she was about to search a woman.

The attackers, from Luqa and Floriana, were aged 25 and 27.

The woman had to be taken to hospital and was sutured in her face.

The two men were arrested on the spot.
