Sunday, August 29 dawned with the prospect of an exciting morning for Brian Micallef, a resident at the Dar tal-Providenza.

Brian had expressed his feelings to Elaine Camilleri, a Valletta FC forum member and supporter, that he wished to see his beloved City team in action one day.

However, due to a misunderstanding, watching the Super Cup match last month was not possible for the wheelchair-bound football enthusiast.

Team manager Jesmond Zammit, however, had other plans. He informed Camilleri that since Brian could not make it to the match, Valletta officials and players would pay him a visit at the home in Siġġiewi.

Fr Martin Micallef, director at DTP, was very accommodating and the ball was set rolling for Brian’s dream to come true.

On Sunday morning, a Valletta FC delegation, led by team captain Gilbert Agius, walked through the DTP reception door with the FA Trophy in hand.

Brian’s face lit up. He had been asking for Agius for quite a while, recalling that he had watched him play along with former captain Kris Laferla too! He was presented with a signed No.7 Valletta shirt besides other club mementoes. His delight was radiant for all to see.
