The Gozo College School of Drama in Nadur recently held a prize-giving ceremony which included various performances by students.

Three-year-olds danced to nursery rhymes, while Grade 5 children transformed Mozart's Figaro into a gracious dance.

Bad Boys and Disney routines were performed by ballroom and Latin American dance students. The drama classes came up with a performance based on Charles Casha's Rina, accompanied by folk music and song.

Choreography for ballet performances was by Simone Grech, while Amanda Amaira and Daphne Coleiro were responsible for ballroom and Latin American dance. Drama students were under the tuition of George Mizzi , Mariella Spiteri and Miriam Debono Curmi.

A speech by Gordon Grech, head of school, highlighted events and achievements by the school throughout the scholastic year, including the excellent passes obtained by students in Royal Academy of Dance and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts exams.

The ceremony was also attended by Gozo College principal Frank Gatt, who stressed the importance of activities such as drama and dance in children's development.

Applications for next year, which close on August 22, are available from the school (tel: 2156 0472; e-mail: gozo.drama.centre@ gov.mt).
