Tony Drago failed to reach the fourth and final qualifying round of this season's UK Championship after going down to Mark Davis 9-7 in Prestatyn, yesterday.

In a tactical battle where no player was able to open a gap in both sessions, Davis went on to clinch the last two frames to secure his place in the next round and a match against Judd Trump.

At the end of the first session the score was 4-4. Drago has never beaten Sussex cueman Davis before but came to this match in high spirits after eliminating David Gilbert and Li Hang in the previous rounds.

Another big name out of the competition is John Parrott. He was beaten 9-6 by Dominic Dale in the third qualifying round.
