An agreement with Singapore for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to income tax has come into force, the government said today.

The agreement was signed on March 26, 2006.

"The agreement is expected to contribute to a further expansion in trade between the two sides," the government added.

This year will mark the twentieth year of diplomatic relations between the two countries, relations having been established May 16, 1988.
