Malta lost their third match in the European Championship Division C qualifiers in Scotland when they were beaten 56-50 (12-7, 9-13, 17-18, 18-12) by Wales.

Samuel Deguara, 17, again proved to be most interesting player in the Maltese squad. Against Wales he potted 13 points and recovered an impressive 15 rebounds.

The game was balanced with both sides winning two quarters each. Godfrey Gauci had a quiet game but still finished with 13 rebounds. Malta play San Marino next.

The scorers against Wales were: Deguara 13, Said 11, S. Schembri 10, Gauci 6, A. Bonnici 4, Baldacchino 2, Ross 2 and Sammut 2.
