GreenPak Coop Society together with The Inspire Foundation and 18 councils are again embarking on a clothes’ collection scheme to help raise funds for the disability programmes at Inspire.

More than 50 tons of used closed were collected in two collections - in October 2013 and last January. The clothes were then sorted by Inspire’s clients and those in good condition were sold through Inspire’s charity shops and exported to different parts of the world, raising thousands of euros for Inspire.

“Besides proving to be good fundraising activities, these initiatives are good for the environment and also provide long term jobs for people with various disabilities,” Inspire CEO Nathan Farrugia said.

The next collection will be held on May 17 and 31 between 8 and 11am. Residents are encouraged to donate any used or unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags or any other accessories in good condition.

Items will be collected from the Attard, Balzan, Ghaxaq, Gudja, Gzira, Kirkop, Lija, Mqabba, Paola, Pembroke, Qormi, Qrendi, San Gwann, Sliema, Valletta, Xaghra, Zabbar and Zurrieq councils.
