Do you know a young person who excels in his or her chosen profession, strives to develop the community or cultural field, is a role model for peers, and exemplifies the best attributes of Malta's young people?

Junior Chamber International Malta (JCI Malta) is inviting the public to nominate men or women between the ages of 18 and 40 for the Top Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) award to recognise their contribution, achievement, or leadership in one of ten categories.

These are: business, economics and/or entrepreneurship; political, legal and/or governmental affairs; academia; culture; moral and/or environmental leadership; children's welfare, world peace and/or human rights; humanitarian and/or voluntary service; scientific and/or technological development; personal improvement; and medical innovation.

JCI Malta national president Chris Mallia commented, "we encourage the public to use this opportunity to reward the accomplishments of the young deserving individuals they know.

This is your chance to truly say 'well done' and potentially open new doors to young remarkable individuals, through the programme's vast local and international exposure."

This is the fifth edition of the local award, held with the support of HSBC Bank Malta plc, KPMG Malta and the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise. Previous winners include Simon Busuttil, Marija Schranz, Sylvana Brannon and Tonio Fenech.

During the JCI Malta Awards Night on November 29, awards will be presented to winners in each of the 10 categories, with one of these finalists also being declared as the TOYP for 2008.

All eligible nominations will also be submitted to the JCI TOYP program to be considered as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World, which will be announced during the 64th JCI world congress in Tunis, Tunisia.
