A man due to have his DNA sample taken at Mater Dei Hospital this afternoon held the authorities responsible should he fall ill by the procedure.

In a judicial protest signed by Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri, 44, from Żebbuġ said he was meant to turn up at Mater Dei Hospital this afternoon for his DNA sample to be taken in connection to an inquiry about a hold-up some months ago.

He said that Christopher Scerri, 34, from Pieta had had his sample taken in court on October 9 and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance because he fell ill.

He reminded the authorities that laws governing the police only allowed the use of moderate proportional force and said that he did not want what happened to Mr Scerri to also happen to him.
