'Augustine and Pelagius on Divine Grace and Human Agency against Pelagianism' is the title of a lecture that Donato Ogliari will deliver on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Gateway Building, Hall E.

Dr Anthony Dupont from Leuven University will chair the discussion.

Prof. Ogliari was appointed abbot of the Benedictine community of the Madonna della Scala abbey in Noci, Bari, in 2004. Besides being actively engaged in the Subiaco Benedictine congregation to which he belongs, he is also vice-president of the Italian Benedictine Monastic Conference. He is also the editor of the Benedictine review of spirituality, La Scala.

Ogliari's interests range from dogmatic theology to Church history, patristic studies, spiritual theology and monasticism.

The lecture is being held by the Philosophy Society under the patronage of President George Abela and Ms Abela. A reception in their honour will also be held in the foyer.
