Gas distributors ended up without newly-filled Liquigas gas cylinders for the second straight day today after waiting for hours outside the gas depot in Qajjenza, Birzebbuga.

Liquigas has blamed Easygas for the crisis, saying it is hoarding some 6,000 empty cylinders.

GRTU officials addressed the gas distributors this afternoon and insisted that the Malta Resources Authority needs to take urgent action to ensure that the people  do not suffer a gas shortage and the distributors do not suffer a loss of income.

The MRA late on Wednesday ordered the two gas companies to give it data on the gas cyclinders in their possession and to return each other’s cylinders within five days.
