Minister of Education Dolores Cristina, replying to a Parliamentary question, was quoted to have said that the government is devising a strategy on the distribution of fruit to schoolchildren.
While applauding such a healthy initiative, one sincerely hopes that children attending Church and private schools will also benefit from this distribution.
These children, whose parents are also taxpayers, are sometimes (indirectly) discriminated against, which I feel is not right.
By sending their children to Church and private schools, their parents are alleviating the government from investing money in building, furnishing and running more state schools.
