Emma Muscat's fans in Malta were gutted when the 19-year-old singer failed to make it to the finals of Italian talent show Amici.

Her journey in the programme started back in December 2017, getting her phase by phase into the semi-finals.

She was eliminated based on televoting, which has prompted a flurry of objections on Facebook and social media as her considerable Maltese fan base could not participate.

The good news is that Emma was offered a recording contract with Warner Music, following an interview with one of the label's talent scouts.

The finalists are recording artist Irama, the winner of the dance section Lauren, Carmen and Einar.

The 19-year-old Maltese singer, who earned praise throughout the show, could not hold back the tears when she was eliminated.
