The information given by Mario Farrugia, one of our foremost experts on military heritage, on the Order’s arsenal was extremely interesting and well researched.

At the end of his article he refers to the bold move that Heritage Malta, under the leadership of Mario Tabone, took when it managed to bring in all the big bronze guns and their carriages that used to be in prominent places in Malta and Gozo.

For the sake of accuracy, may I remind Mr Farrugia that the Valletta Rehabilitation Project had, years earlier, brought in four small bronze guns and their carriages; I am referring to the two that used to be in front of the Main Guard and the two that were in front of the Great Siege monument.

These four beautiful guns were handed over to the Museums Department. The place for such artistic guns is only within museums.
